Jersey Youth Service to take young bands on tour

Two young musical acts are to be taken on tour around the south west of England.
Closed auditions were held on Saturday at La Motte Street Youth Centre where judges watched nine acts, all under 18-years old.
Junior Battle of the Band winners were Synergy and Jordan Burrows was the solo act.
The tour is part of a new scheme called Tour School being run by the Youth Music Service.
Senior youth worker Ivor Richards said he wanted them to experience playing to larger audiences.
He said: "We have done as much as we can possibly do in Jersey with young bands and this is the opportunity to take them off island."
Synergy said it was a great opportunity for them and they hoped to have fun.
The panel of judges included representatives from the youth centre including senior youth worker Ivor Richards and BBC Introducing in Jersey presenter Ryan Morrison.
The successful acts will travel around the south west of England for 10 days playing at youth centres, arts centres and a range of other venues.
Some of the bands the Jersey acts perform with in England will then be invited back to Jersey in the summer.
Mr Richards said: "We can't support the same sort of venues and size of audience they will get in the UK but we can throw in a surfing lesson and some recording."
