Keeping the extra services showed residents' views were listened to, the minister said

Additional services on two bus routes in Jersey are to continue, the States has announced.

The extra journeys on route two from St Helier to Gorey Pier and route 12 from St Helier to Corbiere started in October.

They were introduced by Transport and Technical Services as a result of feedback from passengers.

Transport Minister Kevin Lewis said he was committed to improving the island's bus network.

More investment

"Bus travel is more popular than ever and remains good value compared to the cost of parking a car in St Helier," he said.

"The extra journeys on routes two and 12 demonstrate that comments from members of the public are listened to."

The minister said public travel in Jersey would become "even more attractive", with further investment in additional bus shelters and high quality buses.

A second issue of the winter bus timetable, including details of the additional services, is available from Connex at Liberation Station.
