Jersey National Trust acquires new coastal land

The former president of Jersey National Trust has said he is "delighted" by the latest area of land it has acquired on the north coast of the island.

Ken Syvret was head of the trust 20 years ago when it was given its first land in the area by Angus Paton.

The new 20-acre area of land, donated by Pat Hodges, stretches across the parishes of St John and St Mary.

Mr Syvret said: "We are slowly acquiring land on the north coast which will be protected from development."
