A former senior manager at Guinness was appointed to Jersey's Electoral Commission.

The States agreed to appoint Colin Storm and Highlands College Principal Prof Ed Sallis and Newsnight producer Dr Jonathan Renouf to the commission.

They will join States members Senator Sir Philip Bailhache, Deputy James Baker and Constable Juliette Gallichan.

It completes the membership of the official body looking at Jersey's political system.

The commission will look at types of States member, constituencies, mandates and how long they hold office.

During the debate on their appointment some expressed concern the commission would not be fully independent.
