The 32-year-old actor plays David Metcalfe in the soap Emmerdale
An actor from the ITV soap Emmerdale is the 2012 Mr Jersey Battle of Flowers, organisers have announced.
Matthew Wolfenden plays David Metcalfe in the soap and won the seventh series of Dancing on Ice.
The 32-year-old from West Yorkshire will join Miss Battle of Flowers 2012, Rebecca Houze, during the parades along Victoria Avenue on 9 and 10 August.
Tony Perkins, the Battle of Flowers chairman, said ticket sales for the event were going well.
But he said he hoped the announcement of Mr Battle would help.
