Guernsey, Jersey and Isle of Man meet to discuss health

Health ministers from Guernsey, Jersey and the Isle of Man are meeting to look at how they can share services.

Jersey is hosting a meeting with representatives from the other two Crown Dependencies.

It will be the first time the three health services have got together.

Ministers will discuss their alcohol strategies and the direction of health and social care. The first of the day-long meetings is due to take place in Jersey on Monday.

The aim is to understand each island's policies and the problems they share.

Jersey's health minister, Deputy Anne Pryke, who will host the first meeting, said health services were vital.

She said: "Health and social services will affect every one of us at some point in our lives and we need to make sure it is safe and delivers the care all islands can and should have."
