Immigration laws 'not fit for purpose' Jersey minister says

Current laws about who can live and work in Jersey are "not fit for purpose", according to a senior politician.

Assistant Chief Minister Paul Routier, who is in charge tackling migration policy, said new laws needed to be debated.

The senator said adopting similar laws to Guernsey could be more effective at controlling the population.

Guernsey legislation includes the need to apply to live there before moving.
