Tougher controls needed at Jersey sports fields

Tougher controls are needed at Jersey sports fields to curb anti-social behaviour, according to the island's transport minister.
Deputy Kevin Lewis is asking the States to agree to formally designate Les Quennevais, Grainville and FB Playing Fields as parks.
He said it would allow police to take firmer action against people who misused the facilities.
He said he believed States members would support the plan.
Deputy Lewis said: "Some people take drink with them, others let dogs off their leads and let them run wild and it is that kind of anti-social behaviour that we have to curb."
He said the proposal was in response to a request from the Education, Sport and Culture Minister who wanted the backing of the law to deal with people who spoiled the enjoyment of others.
The States will debate the proposal on 30 April.
