Singer-songwriter Ben Howard has been announced as the Sunday night headliner for the Jersey Live music festival.

The 27-year-old, who grew up in Devon, has performed at major festivals around the world, including the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury.

Jersey Live, held on the last weekend of August, will also see Ellie Goulding headline on the Saturday.

Now in its 11th year, the event has seen acts like Madness, Paul Weller and The Prodigy perform on its main stage.

Jersey Live is subject to organisers gaining permission from the Bailiff, something required by every event in the island and not usually given until near the event itself.

Other acts confirmed include dance group Diversity, The Klaxons, John Newman and CBeebies presenter Mr Bloom.

Co-organiser Warren Holt said they were delighted to have Ben Howard as he is someone they had been asked for constantly.

"Having seen him at many festivals over the years, I can safely say that he's a superb live act and a great talent," he said.

The Jersey Live festival is held in the Royal Jersey Showground in Trinity on 30 and 31 August.
