Coutts' Jersey branch will remain part of the private bank's UK operation

The Jersey branch of private bank Coutts is not among those being sold off by Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS).

Staff in Jersey were told on Monday that their office would remain part of the Coutts UK business, which RBS is not selling.

RBS will sell the Coutts international business, which has offices in Switzerland, Asia and the Middle East.

In July RBS announced 55 job losses in its international division, 26 of them in Jersey.
