Transport provider LibertyBus has introduced mobile ticketing to its app.

The new feature will allow passengers from Tuesday to purchase and download tickets in advance of travel, straight from their phone.

Tickets will be available alongside timetable updates and journey planning tools in the app.

According to the company, more than 20,000 islanders have downloaded the app.

Kevin Hart, LibertyBus director, said: "It's great to move to the next stage of development with our app and make catching the bus even easier as you can buy your tickets in advance making boarding times even quicker."

Samuel Ribeiro, managing director for Tower Transit UK, which owns LibertyBus, said: "The growing adoption of the app is promising and we're looking forward to continuing its development in the future to delight customers with a streamlined travel experience."
