Final dog licence reminder for owners in Jersey
- Published
Dog owners in Jersey are being reminded for the final time to get their pets licensed by the end of January.
The Comité des Connétables said more than 7,000 licences have been purchased for 2024 since the launch of the Jersey Dog Licences online renewal service., external
However, it said 2,000 dog licences still needed to be renewed by Wednesday.
Those that fail to renew the £10 per dog licence in time face a double charge or possible offence proceedings.
Chairman of the Comité des Connétables, Mike Jackson, said: "There are quite a number of dog licences still to be renewed.
"We would remind dog owners not to delay as the charge of £10 per dog increases to £20 from Thursday."
Anyone wishing to keep a dog over the age of six months must buy a licence, unless the dog is trained to assist a blind or deaf person.
