Illuminated tree event in Jersey returns for second year

Trees are being illuminated in a town park for a second year, as a popular event returns.
The Dreaming Trees illuminations at Howard Davis Park aims to educate the ways trees can communicate with each other, the government said.
About 30,000 people attended the event last year, which was deemed a success.
Bruce Labey, senior operations manager for parks and gardens, said this year's event focused on the four elements of earth, wind, water and fire.
The event will see the trees lit each evening between 18:00 to 21:00 GMT until Saturday, 17 February.
Mr Labey said the event was designed to show "the increasing amount of evidence that trees have this inner life that we never knew about."
"They are intelligent creatures, they respond intelligently to their environment, they communicate with their offspring and other trees - it's absolutely mind-boggling," he added.
A special evening will take place next Sunday, 18 February, for people who are neurodivergent, allowing them to "enjoy a slightly scaled back event".
