Condor said more than three quarters of its passengers "remain unaffected" by the changes

Condor Ferries has apologised to customers after it made a number of changes to its summer schedule.

The company said the changes were meant to bring "consistency and familiarity" and more than three quarters of its passengers "remain unaffected".

However, it said some were being notified of a one- or two-hour time change.

Christophe Mathieu, the CEO of Condor, apologised to passengers affected by the changes.

Some islanders had expressed frustration on social media, external at having their original travel plans altered.

Condor said among the changes were increased frequency of services to St Malo for Jersey passengers.

It said high-speed sailings to Poole would revert to morning departures, seven days per week, in the peak months.

Guernsey's service to Cherbourg would cease but in its place would be 54 direct sailings, it said.

'Understandable concern'

There would also be additional day trips from Poole to Guernsey, the operator said.

Mr Mathieu acknowledged there would be "understandable concern" at some of the changes.

"Given that schedule change causes disruption, regrettably some complaints are inevitable," he said.

"We are sorry for those who have been affected and in particular for any miscommunication that may have occurred and are working with passengers individually.

"We believe the majority of islanders, passengers and freight users will benefit in the medium to long-term, notwithstanding understandable concerns from some raised in the immediate aftermath."
