Police searched the home of the former president of El Salvador, Elias Antonio Saca, on Wednesday.
Mr Saca, 50, was arrested on Sunday on suspicion of embezzling millions of dollars of public funds.
Investigators said they were searching for incriminating documents but found nothing in his San Salvador house.
Over the past day a number of properties with links to the former leader have been searched, including a radio station and a car dealership.

Mr Saca is being investigated for alleged money laundering and embezzlement in connection with the siphoning off of $246m (£200m) of public funds into private accounts during his time in office.
The policitican, from the conservative Nationalist Republican Alliance (Arena), governed El Salvador from 2004 to 2009.
He was preceded in office by Francisco Flores, also of the Arena party.
Mr Flores died in January after suffering a brain haemorrhage.
He was also under investigation for alleged embezzlement and illegal enrichment.
