Oklahoma tornado: Before and after images

The tornado which tore through the Oklahoma City suburb of Moore, flattened swathes of buildings including Plaza Towers Elementary School.

Moore Medical Center was also badly damaged by the winds, which reached 200mph (320km/h).

Whole neighbourhoods were devastated, including these homes to the west of Santa Fe Avenue.

Briarwood Elementary School (bottom of picture) was also in the tornado's path when it struck on Monday afternoon.

The powerful storm flattened homes in its direct trajectory but left nearby properties unscathed.
