Aerial footage of Houston swamped by floods

The mayor of Houston has asked the governor of Texas to declare the city a disaster area after flash floods left at least two people dead and turned streets into rivers.

Mayor Annise Parker said that some city services were operating and that plans were being made to tow cars stranded by floodwaters as soon as conditions allowed.
