Kareem Abdul-Jabbar on inequality and racism in the US
After he retired from professional basketball, NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar turned his focus back to writing - a lifelong passion for him.
"I'm a writer who had some basketball skills," he says.
His latest book is Writing on the Wall, and he spoke to Katty Kay about how racism and inequality has affected America and how people have used him as an example in both positive and negative ways.
