President Biden: Covid-19 relief bill 'a giant step forward'

US President Joe Biden has welcomed the Senate's approval of a major Covid-19 relief bill.

He described the vote on Saturday as a "giant step forward" and said he hoped to sign the bill into law next week.

The so-called American Rescue Plan is the third relief bill passed by the Senate since the start of the pandemic.
