The South Africans travelling 9,000 miles to fight Canada’s fires
A second group of South African firefighters have arrived in Canada to help with the extreme wildfires. About 2,000 firefighters from around the world and other provinces have answered Alberta’s call for help.
The Working on Fire programme trains previously unemployed South African youth into professional firefighters.
