US cancer patient ‘blessed’ after $1.3bn lottery win
Cheng Saephan, who has been battling cancer for eight years, said he was “thankful” for his $1.3bn lottery win but wondered if he would have time to spend his winnings.
In a news conference in Oregon, he said he would use the money to “find a good doctor” and provide for his family. The Portland resident is an immigrant from Laos.
He and his wife will take a lump sum of $422m after taxes, and after splitting the jackpot with a friend who chipped in to buy the batch of tickets.
