Rudimental beat airport problems to play the Main Stage at Radio 1's Big Weekend in Londonderry.
The band were stuck at Heathrow Airport after an emergency landing closed the runway.
DJ Locksmith told fans in Derry's Ebrington Square: "We left all our equipment in London but we are still here."
The delays meant two other artists, AlunaGeorge and Angel Haze, had to pull out of the three-day event.
After borrowing equipment Rudimental performed some of their biggest tracks including Waiting All Night - their second number one this year on the Official Singles Chart.
Ella Eyre who features on that track and John Newman, the vocalist on Feel The Love, appear with band members DJ Locksmith, Piers Agget, Kesi Dryden and Amir Amor.
Speaking as they came off the Main Stage Amir Amor from Rudimental said: "It was an epic day. We nearly didn't make it…we lost all our equipment.
"We had to borrow stuff from Chase and Status and Angel Haze but we pulled it out the bag."
He added: "We borrowed guitars, bass, microphones, a bit of love! Everything we could. But the gig just blew us away."
Vocalist Ella Eyre admits she was anxious.
"Even with half an hour to go before the gig, people were saying 'we can use this and we can use that' I was thinking 'this is not going to work.' I was really scared because I wanted to happen" she said.
"In the end, it's the best feeling to be unorganised and for the show to be so perfect. We just had to pull together with what we're used to. It was just amazing. We're such a family - it's good we can do that together."
Gates will open at around midday in Derry on both Saturday and Sunday, 25 and 26 May.
