Kanye West says he's heartbroken after a version of a video for Black Skinhead leaked online.

The rapper announced on Twitter that the music video for his latest single was an unfinished edit.

He tweeted: "The BLKKK SKKKN HD video that leaked yesterday was not the official version."

The video, which appeared online on Monday, featured a monochrome animated version of Kanye West, barking dogs and zombies.

However, it never appeared on West's official Vevo page., external

Black Skinhead is the first track from Kanye's sixth studio album, Yeezus, to be given an official video.

Yeezus went to number one in the UK album chart when it was released last month.

He went on to explain how he'd been working with British photographer Nick Knight, who directed the video for Lady Gaga's Born This Way, on an official edit.

Kanye West told his 9.6 million followers: "Me and Nick Knight have been working on this video for 5 months and for creatives it's heartbreaking when something like this happens."

He asked any website who had been hosting the leaked clip to take it down.

He said: "The final version will be ready within the next week.

"So any website that may have the unapproved / unfinished ruff. I ask you to please take it down."

West, who recently became a father, added: "Allow me and Nick to give the world what we've been losing sleep over."
