Nick Grimshaw has hurt his foot in a Radio 1 football match.
The breakfast show DJ was playing with his colleagues against a team led by singer Olly Murs when he was injured.
He tweeted a picture of his foot from hospital on Monday night saying, "Hour 4 in A&E for post match injury :(".
On Tuesday morning he was replaced on his show by afternoon DJ Scott Mills. A Radio 1 statement said: "We expect Grimmy to be back on air tomorrow [Wednesday morning]."
According to Scott Mills, Nick Grimshaw has torn a number of ligaments and the doctors have given him painkillers to help.
On Monday Radio 1 broadcast live from St George's Park near Birmingham as part of the Football Association's 150th anniversary and ahead of the Sir Bobby Robson National Football Day on 10 August.
Nick Grimshaw's team, the Radio One-derers, included former professional footballer Robbie Savage and Chris Stark, who is part of Scott Mills' programme team.
They lost the five-a-side match 11-1 to Olly Murs' team.
Grimshaw, 28, is due to head to Ibiza later this week as his Radio 1 show prepares to broadcast live from the island.
Nick Grimshaw later tweeted: "Gutted to miss the show today but the painkillers were making me talk all crazy crazy and slow. Thanks @scott_mills for this morning 🙌."
