Rita Ora denies Twitter promo fail saying she was hacked

Rita Ora has been announced as a judge for the new series The Voice

Rita Ora has claimed her Twitter account has been "hacked" by somebody "threatening to release new music".

A tweet was sent from the singer's account on 31 October reading: "Dropping my new song Monday if this get 100,000 retweets (sic)."

However, the post was quickly deleted after receiving around 2,000 retweets.

It's being seen as a bit of an embarrassment for the 23-year-old who has almost four million followers.

But she was quick to claim the original post had nothing to do with her or her label.

Ora wrote: "By the way my Twitter got hacked somebody is threatening to release new music I've worked really hard on.

"Nothing comes out until I'm ready.

"When it's ready we will drop music! Luckily I caught the hacker really quickly and deleted the post. Thank you!!"

The singer's recent single I Will Never Let You Down became her fourth number one in May and Black Widow and her collaboration with Iggy Azalea peaked at number four in August.

Discussing her currently unnamed second album with Radio 1 Breakfast Show host Nick Grimshaw ahead of this year's Big Weekend in Glasgow, she revealed she had collaborated with Macklemore & Ryan Lewis.

"We've got some really exciting stuff with Macklemore," she revealed. "There's a lot of surprises on this record."

Earlier this year Rita Ora was named as the latest coach to join The Voice, replacing Kylie Minogue on the panel for the BBC singing show.
