Amazing sand sculptures on display in Weston-super-Mare

Wow, what a dragon! Weston-super-Mare's annual sand sculpture festival has begun and there's some pretty cool designs.

They're created by 20 artists who travel from all over the world to take part in the event. This year the theme is 'Once Upon a Time'

These two koala bears look like they're from Noah's Ark....

...And this is the White Witch from Narnia. About 5,000 tonnes of beach sand has been scooped up for the artists to create their sculptures.

If you hit the beach this weekend do you reckon you could take on a creation like this?

This sleeping lion seems to be making the most of the sunny weather. You can see these sculptures on Weston-super-Mare's beach until 5th October.
