Royal Mail releases new stamps for Christmas
- Published

The Royal Mail has been issuing special Christmas stamps for the past 50 years - that's every year since 1966!

The idea is that they celebrate some of the main traditions that people enjoy at Christmas time. This year, they feature decorating the Christmas tree, making a snowman, hanging out the stocking, eating Christmas pudding and lighting a Christmas lantern.

The 2016 Christmas stamps were created by an artist in Manchester called Helen Musselwhite. She made them using paper cut-outs, which were then photographed.
