Keepers at ZSL London Zoo care for more than 300 different species, including mammals, birds, reptiles and fish. This includes big-headed turtle Celia, whose parents were rescued from the illegal wildlife trade and given a new home at the zoo in 2018. How adorable is she!

The yearly audit takes keepers almost a week to complete. The information gathered by the zoo is then shared with other zoos around the world, where it’s used to help manage worldwide conservation breeding programmes for endangered species like this tiny Mallorcan midwife toad.

This cheeky meerkat seems keen to have a little look at the stocktake figures for himself...he's bound to be impressed!

There were lots of new additions to the zoo in 2022, including two super cute Sumatran tiger cubs named Zac and Crispin.

There were also a whopping 10 new Humboldt penguin chicks born at the zoo last year and they all seem to have settled right in.

A critically endangered western lowland gorilla named Kiburi joined the zoo in 2022, bringing the total number up to five.

Tiny pygmy goats Chestnut, Buttons and Truffle also joined their herd in June last year. They certainly seem like a mischievous bunch!

This pair of Bolivian black-capped squirrel monkeys seem to be having a great time on that abacus - who knew numbers could be so fun?
