The main summer football transfer window is coming to an end, with clubs everywhere on the hunt to find the right players who can strengthen their squads and take them to the next level.

Clubs in the Premier League and English Football League (EFL) had until 7pm on 1 September, this year's Deadline Day, to strike a deal before the current window closed.

For those in the Scottish Premiership, it was 11pm on Monday but the Women's Super League (WSL) window closes at 11pm on Thursday, 4 September.

Let's take a closer look at some of the big Premier League transfers that have gone through.

One of the first big summer transfers was Trent Alexander-Arnold, who signed for Real Madrid on a six-year deal in May.

The defender had earlier announced that he was leaving Liverpool at the end of the last season.

The Spanish club are thought to have paid the Reds around £8.5million to end his contract early.

The payment means that the right-back joined Real in time to play in the Fifa Club World Cup tournament, which took place over the summer in the USA.

Jack Grealish

Everton have agreed a season-long loan deal for the Manchester City winger Jack Grealish.

The 29-year-old spent much of last season on the bench for City and was left out of their squad for the Fifa Club World Cup competition, which took place over the summer in the United States.

The England international joined City from Aston Villa for what was a British record fee of £100m in August 2021.

Over the last four years, he made more than 150 appearances for the Citizens, winning three Premier League titles, the Champions League and the FA Cup.

Darwin Nunez won't be playing for Liverpool next season as the Uruguayan striker has joined Al-Hilal on a three-year contract.

The Saudi Pro League side secured a deal worth around £46million for the 26-year-old.

Nunez joined Liverpool in June 2022 from Portuguese side Benfica for an initial fee of £64m.

He scored 40 goals in 143 appearances for the Reds but only started eight Premier League games during their title-winning campaign last season.

Alexander Isak

After weeks of rumours, it's been confirmed that Alexander Isak is on his way out from Newcastle United.

Liverpool have agreed a transfer fee of £125 million to sign Alexander Isak from Newcastle United.

The deal makes the striker the most expensive player ever in Premier League history.

Isak has signed a six-year deal with the Premier League champions.

The Sweden star was a big player for Newcastle last season, finishing as the club's top scorer with 27 goals in 42 appearances across all competitions.

Crystal Palace's Eberechi Eze has made the move across the capital, from south to north London.

Arsenal have agreed a deal worth £60m, including £8m in add-ons, for the 27-year-old to become their seventh summer signing.

Eze had been one of Tottenham's main targets this summer, and Spurs had agreed terms with both Palace and Eze.

But the Gunners made a last-minute move for Eze, and the boyhood Arsenal fan chose to re-join Arsenal, having started his youth career with the club.

Eze scored 14 goals across all competitions for Palace last season, including the only goal in their 1-0 win against Manchester City in the FA Cup final.

Marcus Rashford

Spanish giants Barcelona have signed Marcus Rashford on loan from Manchester United.

The 27-year-old has joined on a deal until the end of next season.

The striker scored 138 goals for the Red Devils but found himself left out of the team by manager Ruben Amorim.

As a result, earlier this year he signed for Aston Villa on loan, making 10 appearances for the midlands club.

Rashford is the first English player to sign for Barcelona since Gary Lineker in 1986.
