It was created by artist Dave Bain, based on original artwork by Aardman illustrator Lorna Harrington. Mr Bain said: "This mural is a brilliant example of what can be achieved by working together as a creative community."

Dave says his design aims to capture "the iconic characteristics of joy and energy" of each Aardman character. Shaun the Sheep, Wallace and Gromit and Morph can be seen in the mural, alongside famous Bristol landmarks, including Clifton Suspension Bridge, Bristol Children's Hospital and the colourful houses by the Harbourside.

Aardman Animations has been based in the city since 1976. Peter Lord, the co-creator of the mischievous plasticine character Morph, has visited the mural with a model of his famous character. Morph was one of the first famous Aardman characters - a clay figure who can change his shape and transform into loads of different things, while getting into, and out of, trouble!
