Moana 2: Disney announce sequel films for Moana, Frozen and Toy Story

The line where the sky meets the sea is calling us all once again...
Disney have announced Moana and Maui will be sailing back to the big screen this year in a brand new animated musical adventure.
Moana 2 will be released on 27 November 2024 and will take us on another voyage across the seas.
Moana which stared Dwayne Johnson as the demigod Maui, was nominated for two Academy Awards, won a Grammy for Lin Manuel Miranda, and made nearly $700million for Disney, was widely praised for its songs, story and animation.
This new movies will be separate to the live-action movie which is set to be released in 2026.

The feature-length film will follow Moana and Maui on a big new voyage across the ocean to the far seas of Oceania.
Disney's description of the film says: "After receiving an unexpected call from her wayfinding ancestors, Moana must journey to the far seas of Oceania and into dangerous, long-lost waters for an adventure unlike anything she's ever faced."
Which other Disney sequels are in the works?
Disney has also confirmed Frozen 3, Toy Story 5 and Zootopia 2 are all due to be happening too.
We've still got a little while to wait for these though, with Frozen 3 not expected to be released until 2026 with a Frozen 4 also in the works.
There's less time to wait for Zootopia 2 with its release date set for 26 November 2025.
Finally, it's not yet know when we'll see our favourite toys Buzz and Woody again, but it's rumoured to be anywhere between 2026 and 2028.
