What is the Fantastic Four?

Fantastic Four is a long-running comic book series created by Marvel's Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby.

This was Stan Lee's first superhero team creation, and gave him an opportunity to try out a new style of comic.

Mr Lee said he wanted to make a series where the characters would be more realistic.

In his Origins of Marvel Comics book from 1974, he wrote: "For just this once, I would do the type of story I myself would enjoy reading.... And the characters would be the kind of characters I could personally relate to..."

The first Fantastic Four comic was published in November 1961, and to date is one of the most popular superhero teams series in Marvel's history.

There have been a few attempts to turn the comics into movies, but this is the first time that Disney will be adapting the series.

The comics star four astronauts who gain super powers while on a mission in space.
