Think you could beat your pet in a dance-off?

Ronan beat the competition in a dance-off as part of a new study

If the music starts and you had to go up against your pet in a dance-off, maybe to a bit of R &-Flea or some heavy pet-al, do you think you would win?
Scientists once thought that only humans could keep time with music, but a sea lion named Ronan has blown that idea out of the water.
Not only can Ronan keep time with music, but she can do it better than people, according to a new study.
So maybe think twice before challenging your furry friends, they just might surprise you.

Ronan's talents were first noticed more than ten years ago when she surprised a team of scientists by nodding her head in time with music - and they say her skills have only improved with age.
Professor Peter Cook is the lead author of the new study and a comparative neuroscientist at New College of Florida in the US.
He said "no other non-human animal is as precise and consistent as Ronan".
Alongside his team they decided to really put her to the test in a dance-off against 10 students from the University of California in Santa Cruz.
She came out on top in all of the different ways the study tested beat-keeping.
How do you think you would do against your pet? Do you think you have better timing? Let us know in the comments.
