People in Telford are asked to be on the lookout for Cinnamon the capybara who escaped from a local zoo on Friday.

Hoo Zoo and Dinosaur World said she was last spotted on a road nearby on Saturday evening but she hasn't been seen since.

Keepers think she's likely to be nearby enjoying the big fields where there is lots of food and plenty of ponds to keep her occupied.

A spokesperson from the zoo said no one should try and capture the capybara themselves.

Capybaras are the world's largest rodents and are native to South America.

While they're usually quite friendly and inquisitive, keepers say she could get scared and become unpredictable.

A spokesperson said: "Cinnamon has a fantastic bond with her keepers and it is likely that she can be encouraged back to her habitat with no physical intervention.

"Please wish us all the very best for the safe and swift return of Cinnamon. We appreciate all of your support in finding her."
