Today is a big day for maths and numbers, as it's National Numeracy Day.

National Numeracy Day aims to inspire a love of maths in young people and adults.

As part of the day, BBC show Numberblocks will be sending a toy of one of their characters into space to represent the plan to reach new heights in maths.

What's happening on National Numeracy Day 2024?

Using a giant balloon vehicle filled with hydrogen, the Numberblocks team will be sending Ten up into the sky for a space adventure.

It'll rise to more than 33km - the very top 0.05% of Earth's atmosphere.

As the balloon travels, the pressure change will cause it to expand and burst, leaving Numberblock Ten in the atmosphere whilst the spacecraft parachutes back to the ground safely.
