Most people think about sofas, cupboards, and carpets when designing their homes. Julie thought about leaping headfirst into a sea of multicoloured fun.

They're normally found in play centres, but this ball pit is at a home in Merseyside.

Inspired by a celebrity's house, Julie Williams, a grown-up with a job as an IT consultant, said: "You can never be sad in a ball pit."

"No-one really thinks about the idea of putting a ball pit in their own house," said Julie, until she did and got one fitted.

The unusual feature that includes 11,000 balls, was put beside a flight of stairs in the upstairs of her home and was spotted after Julie put her house up for sale.

"If the new owners want to keep it... it's been built in, it makes sense," she added.
