The Quarter Final Penalty...

GOALLLLL
Think back to the Euro Quarter finals...
It was a match of two halves that left many fans on the edge of their seat.
After equalising in the last 11 minutes of the match, and no goals in extra time, it was a penalty shoot out decider between England and Sweden.
At the time Bronze told BBC Sport "I think it was just a rollercoaster, both overwhelming and underwhelming,"

And now looking back she has shared a little bit more about her penalty that put England through to the semis.
Speaking to The Times, Bronze recalls speaking to goalkeeper Hannah Hampton.
She said, 'I'll score this, you save the next one, and we win.'
Bronze went on to blast the ball down the middle and into the net.
A goal that took the team through to the semi-finals of the tournament.
Autism, ADHD and football...

"That's my autism, it's my hyper-focus on football."
It was only a couple of years ago in 2021, following chats with the England team psychologist that Bronze was diagnosed with both ADHD and Autism.
A diagnosis she now says helped her understand herself.
"So many things started to make sense," she said to The Times in her latest interview.
"I always used to think I was deadly shy and I would tell people that. But, really, I didn't communicate the same way as other people."

Lucy Bronze is now also an ambassador for both the National Autistic Society and also ADHD UK.
She says she believes her own diagnoses have been a help in her football.
She told BBC Sport back in March "I'm passionate, I'm obsessed. That's my autism, it's my hyper-focus on football."
The future...

Bronze hopes to make the team for the World Cup in 2027
Talking to The Times about her future Bronze shared that in an ideal world "I would love to just keep playing for ever,".
However, at 33, she is aware that her performances may change.
She tells The Times "as you get older, performances aren't what they used to be."
Despite that she does hope to don the England jersey at the next World Cup in Brazil in 2027.
"If I can, brilliant. And if not, I'm content with what I've done. I'm so lucky to have gone to as many as I have."
