Meeting sports-mad Newsround fans has been a big highlight

We’re nearly at the end of the first full week of sports here in Paris for the 2024 Summer Olympic Games. Hasn’t that gone by fast?
Can I let you in on a little secret though? This is my first time ever at an Olympic Games and my first time seeing this much live sport in one sitting.
Honestly, there is just so much sport going on that you’re always going to find something that you like.
One of the most impressive things I’ve seen so far was the men’s BMX Freestyle Final. Honestly, it felt like a huge party in the sun! You had a DJ spinning tunes for the cyclists to show off some amazing tricks to and the crowd were going absolutely wild for Kieran Reilly who won a silver for Team GB.
It’s also been really impressive seeing Team GB absolutely acing it across the sports. Remember the Olympic pins I was talking about in my first blog post?
Well, I’ve managed to get them on some pretty impressive athletes so far… I’m not meaning to brag but Tom Daley and Andy Murray now have a Newsround pin, just saying.
But one of the biggest highlights has actually been meeting loads of Newsround fans out here in Paris and children from all around the world!
In fact, two of the first kids that I had met were two brothers called called Owen and Vincent who had travelled here all the way from Texas in the United States.
This is their first Olympics that they were watching in person and they told me they’re really excited to see some soccer… or as we call it, football.
Big shout out to Reggie and Tobias too, big Newsround fans from Manchester. They were waiting to watch Simone at the gymnastics qualifiers too and you should have seen the smiles on their faces as we said goodbye and they went to queue up to get their seats.
Reggie is a gymnast back home so wanted to get his gymnastics kit signed by some of the athletes. Fingers crossed he did.
I also met three lovely Newsround fans called Sienna, Mya and Blake who have also travelled here from the UK, and they have had a brilliant time so far.
They had seen Tom Daley and his partner Noah Williams get a silver medal with their impressive synchronised dive, have watched a bit of tennis and are even going to see the 100m men’s and women's race in the athletics! I don’t know about you but that’s a very lucky summer holiday.
I’ll catch up with you guys next week,
Au revoir!
