Lots of children were dressed up in impressive costumes in almost every bright colour you can imagine.

Some even had whistles so they could create their own music while they boogied down the streets.

There were lots of young performers taking part who had their faces painted in beautiful colours to match their outfits.

There were also groups who performed routines they'd carefully rehearsed before the big day.

How amazing does this young boy look in his fiery costume? The vibrant colours really pop.

Lots of the participants worked hard to make sure their unique costumes stood out, just like this one with intricate gold details.

The parade gives young people an opportunity to be bold, bright and confident, something this performer definitely embraced.

Carnival is also a way children can celebrate different cultures with friends.

More than a million people in total are expected to attend the event over the weekend.
