What is the Pokemon Trading Card Game?
With the success of the video games, the Pokémon Trading Card Game (or TCG for short) was created in 1996.
They are a collectable card game where fans battle it out using their Pokemon on the cards to "fight".
Collectors swap, buy and sell cards, and each has a different monetary value depending on how rare the card is, the character on them, the age of the card and the condition it is in.
There are even Pokémon card tournaments where players compete to win big prizes, and there is even a world championship tournament.
Since they were first introduced, 30 billion cards have been printed.
