How can Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland qualify for Euros 2025?

It's time for the Euro 2025 play-offs, the games that will decide who gets to play in the continent's biggest women's football tournament.

England have already qualified, but Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland's hopes all currently hang in the balance.

So, what do they need to do to make it through to the competition finals next summer?

How do the Euro 2025 play-offs work?

Euro 2025 will feature 16 nations and, as hosts, Switzerland qualified automatically for the competition.

Last year's champions England were among eight teams who booked their place during the group phase.

The remaining seven spots are being fought for by14 nations so it's winner takes all in the last play-off games.

How do Scotland get to Euro 2025?

Scotland has already played the first leg of their knockout against Finland.

It was incredibly close as they drew 0-0, so now they need to win this next game against them.

The next leg on 3 December will be away in Finland, and it will go to extra-time and penalties if the scores remain level.

How do Wales get to Euro 2025?

Wales also has to win the second leg of their game, after drawing 1-1 against the Republic of Ireland in their first match..

They'll be playing their second match in Dublin, and whoever wins will get through to the Euro 2025 finals next summer.

Northern Ireland have an uphill battle ahead of them

Northern Ireland however are going to need a huge result make their way to the competition finals.

They were beaten 4-0 by Norway in their first head-to-head play-off match.

So Northern Ireland will now have to beat the two-times Euros winners by at least five goals in their second leg in order to get through.
