Meet Alex, the celebrity 'therapy bunny'

Pictured in 2021, Alex the Great has been a regular at San Francisco Giants games for years.

You have probably heard of emotional support dogs. Perhaps even specially trained cats to help ease stress?

But have you ever seen a therapy rabbit?

Well this big bunny has been spotted at a baseball game in the United States and its owner says it is not just there to soak up the atmosphere - he has a very important job to do.

Alex The Great is a 12.7 kilogram (28lbs) Flemish Giant rabbit who is a local celebrity in San Francisco, California.

On Saturday, Alex made a first appearance of the season at Oracle Park, the home of the San Francisco Giants, and received plenty of attention!

Despite being referred to as "the big kitty" by one of the TV commentators, Alex still made plenty of people in the crowd smile.

He doesn't just show up to sporting events too.

Alex is often seen at airports helping to calm nervous flyers before they board their planes, and has almost 50,000 followers on social media.

He even has a famous fan in singer Chappel Roan!
