Sony released a glimpse of the new Spider-Man suit showing a raised webbing design

Get ready Spidey fans because your favourite neighbourhood superhero has got some new threads.

Sony Pictures just dropped a sneak peek of Spider-Man's brand-new suit for the next film, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and it's weaving a lot of excitement across the web.

Tom Holland is suiting up for his fourth outing as the wall-crawler next year, and this time, the costume is getting a makeover.

While it's still that classic red, the new suit appears to feature raised webbing.

Could the new suit be inspired by Tobey Maguire's version of the character with raised webbing (left), or continue the high-tech theme worn by Tom Holland (centre) or reimagine the sleek Andrew Garfield version (right)?

Across the comics and video games, Spider-Man has rocked everything from the classic red and blue, to the all-black symbiote suit.

But in the latest version, Sony has shown us so little, it's like trying to spot Miles Morales in camouflage mode!

While the recent series of Spider-Man movies has seen Tom Holland wear the famous red with blue trim, the films also featured a high-tech look - thanks to the Iron Spider suit gifted by Tony Stark.

Most recently, a sparkly red and blue suit was worn by Spidey while swinging through snowy New York at the end of No Way Home - could that have been our first glimpse at the new design?

Or could the raised webbing be a nod to Tobey Maguire's suit from the films in the early 2000s? Or maybe it's a mix of Andrew Garfield's sleek design from the Amazing Spider-Man?
