Wheelchair tennis stars Alfie Hewett and Gordon Reid, who have won 21 Grand Slam titles together in doubles, defeated Japan's Tokito Oda and Takuya Miki 6-2 6-1 in the wheelchair tennis men's doubles decider.

It was a special moment for the pair who previously lost the doubles titles at Rio 2016 and Tokyo in 2021.

"We felt confident going into this week but there is always a doubt because of those two losses at the Paralympics. We've just squashed that and played our brand of tennis. Thankfully, this time, we're not crying on each other's shoulders," said Alfie Hewett.

Poppy Maskill, 19, continued to shine in her first Games with a third gold medal in the S14 100m backstroke.

The teenager added to her two golds and two silvers which she won earlier in the Paralympics.

Despite her incredible achievements, Poppy feels she hasn't showcased her best performance yet.

"I'm obviously happy with my medals as they are a great achievement but I'm slightly disappointed in my time because I know I can be better.”
