If you were able to play a character from your favourite musical who would you want to play?

10-year-old Karis felt like she was 'in a fairytale' when she was picked to play young Elphaba in the new Wicked movie that is out this weekend.

She joined the cast of Wicked including Cynthia Erivo, who plays Elphaba and Ariana Grande.

And she was even joined by her best friend nine-year-old Harriet who played a munchkin on screen.

For the girls working on the movie was a 'dream come true'.

Speaking to Newsround Harriet said: "I’m really happy that I got to do this with my best friend. It’s been really exciting to share the experience together."

Karis added: "Hattie’s an amazing person to work with and it’s been really nice to share this experience with her."

Harriet also told Newsround her favourite part about working on the movie: "Getting to work with Ariana and see her singing live on set."

Both the girls are hoping that the film might mean more opportunities to star in more films.

Kartis said: "I’m really excited to do more musical theatre roles as I really love theatre but it’s also made me excited to want to do more film and television. I’d really like to play some mean roles!"

Wicked job, girls!
