Who went home with a trophy at the TikTok Awards 2024?

Science, travelling, and cleaning videos were all included in the first UK and Ireland TikTok Awards 2024 on Tuesday.

Seventy-two content creators were shortlisted with a combined follower count of more than 101 million people.

There were 12 categories, including education, beauty, comedy, food and sport.

Newsround sat down with Big Manny to talk all things science

Big Manny picked up the award for education creator of the year for his at-home chemistry experiments.

He said being seen as a role model was "really great".

"My teacher inspired me, and that's what I hope to give back," he said, adding that his favourite video was one where he "melted a knife into something else to spread love".

Creator of the year went to Kyra-Mae Turner for her lifestyle videos, which focus mainly on going on holiday and get ready with me videos.

Miles Laflin, better known as The Pool Guy, was awarded high-quality content creator of the year for his videos cleaning up swimming pools, which has brought in 15 million followers to his account!

He said: "Even people who don't have a pool just love seeing how satisfying it is for something to be cleaned."

And rising star creator of the year was given to George Harper. He creates cinematic film-like videos.
