Defending champions England booked their place at Euro 2025 by finishing runners-up in their qualification group.

Wales made history earlier this month by beating the Republic of Ireland in their play-off final match to reach their first major women's tournament.

Both teams have been drawn in Group D alongside France and the Netherlands - who England manager Sarina Wiegman led to victory at Euro 2017.

After the draw was made, Wiegman said that Group D was "very interesting and very exciting".

She added: "Everyone goes to a tournament to win it and so do we. I'm confident in my team."

Jess Fishlock, Wales' most-capped player, said that she "can't wait" for the Euros.

"We're going to go there, we're going to give everything that we have no matter who the team is, no matter what their history is," she explained.

Spain are the current world champions and are highest ranked Fifa team in Europe.

Could they go all the way in Switzerland and add the European title to their global crown next summer?

It won't be easy, as there are plenty of other teams hoping to get their hands on the trophy.

England, who Spain beat to lift the World Cup last year, are the current European champions and will be looking to defend their title.

And Germany, who were runners-up at the last Euros, will be aiming to go one better this time round and win the trophy for a record ninth time.
