The world's most EXPENSIVE dinosaurs

Apex is a pretty expensive dinosaur - but which others have earned a large price tag?

A large Stegosaurus skeleton has sold for a whopping £34 million.
This is the most expensive sale ever of a nearly complete dinosaur skeleton.
The massive dinosaur is called Apex, and is 11 feet tall (3.35 metres) and 27 feet long (8.23 metres), and 150 million years old.
So it sounds like whoever bought Apex is going to need to find somewhere pretty big to keep him!
But what other pricey dinosaurs have there been throughout the years?

5 - Big John

His name is John - and he's very big!
Big John got his name for a reason - he's has the world record for being the biggest ever Triceratops discovered.
He's a whopping 26ft (7.9m) long and 10ft (3m) high.
His skull itself is over 8ft (2.4m) long!
Big John sold for around 12 million dollars - which is about £9 million.
He was sold to a private collector and is now in a children's museum in the USA.
4 - Hector

Deinonychus were small, meat-eating dinosaurs. This is what scientists think their babies looked like
Although Hector has most of his skull bones missing, it didn't stop him being sold for just over the price of Big John.
His bones helped palaeontologists - dinosaur experts - understand more about his species, which is the Deinonychus dino.
Deinonychus means "terrible claw".
This name might sound a bit of a dig on this small, meat-eating dinosaur - but its toe claws were large and sharp, perfect for taking down its prey.
3 - Sue

Sue is a very popular dino!
Sue held the record for the most expensive dinosaur sale until 2020.
She's a T-Rex, and her bones are around 90% complete.
This meant experts could get a pretty good idea of what she would have looked like.
Sue was discovered in the 1990s, in South Dakota in the USA.
She sold for a mega $15 million, which is around £11 million equivalent.
2 - Stan

In 2020, Stan overtook Sue as the most expensive dinosaur.
He's now in second place, but when he was sold he went for a mega $37 million. This is way above any previous dinosaur sales.
Stan was, like Sue, a T-rex, also found in South Dakota. Experts think he died 60 million years ago.
He's now on display at Manchester Museum in England.
