Labrador Logie likes little litter in his lakes

A helpful dog has been trained by his owner to pick up litter.

Logie the Labrador likes to pick up bottles, cans and other waste on his daily walks around Plymouth.

The four-year-old black Lab even retrieves rubbish from the sea.

He's so successful at it he now has a social media account called Litter Logie.

Both of his owners work in jobs that study the environment so it seems Logie has picked up some of their interests!

Logie's owner said he was "incredibly loyal and intelligent"

One of his owners James Westgate said Logie started picking up litter when he was just a puppy.

When he fetched a bottle from the sea, James decided to train him to do more.

"Logie picks up anything you ask him to - anything from a Pringles can to a traffic cone he's retrieved from the sea," he said.

"We can finish our walk with bundles of trash which we then put into recycling or in the bin," he said.

James says being Logie's owner is a perfect match.

"He's obsessed with picking up litter and I really care about the environment, so it's a win-win really," he said.

What a good boy, Logie!
