Take a look at these bird images from across the world.
More than 23,000 photographs were entered into The Bird Photographer of the Year competition, with their photographers hoping to win the £3,500 prize.
The competition isn't just for adult photographers - but also had a Young Photographer of the Year award - divided into a 15-17 year old category, a 12-14 year old category and an 11 and under category.

The winner of the 11 and under category was this photograph named Turbulent Fish Hunt. It was taken in Germany on Lake Federsee, which is a famous wintering area for many birds to travel to from all over the world during their migration journeys.

The Young Bird Photographer of the Year aged between 12 and 14, was awarded to 14-year-old Spanish photographer Andrés Luis Domínguez whose photo of a Eurasian Nuthatch was taken in Grazalema in southern Spain.

Taken on a beach on the Baltic Sea this photograph captures a bird, dog and human. The photographer was hoping to represent the potential impact of human activity and tourism on protected species and their habitats.
As well as the young winners, the competition had eight categories for adults.
these included Best Portrait, Birds in the Environment, Bird Behaviour, Birds in Flight, Black and White, Urban Birds, Conservation and a Comedy Bird Photo award.
All winners were awarded either Gold, Silver or Bronze in these categories, and the youth categories' pictures will printed in a special book.

Does this picture in the snow put you in the Christmas mood? This photograph of the Grey-crowned Rosy-finch was winner of the Best Portrait category.

Stop the traffic! The winner for the Urban Birds competition shows a mother Goosander leading her brood of babies across the road under the supervision of volunteers.

Diving off a sunny Shetland. This winning photo of Birds in the Environment shows a trio of diving birds. They are Northern Gannets, Scotland's largest seabirds and have the ability to dive to depths as far as 22 metres.
